Labrador temperament and behavior
It is a good-tempered, very agile dog. It has got an excellent nose, soft mouth and it is very fond of water.
It is an adaptable and devoted companion animal. Intelligent, keen and biddable, with a strong will to please. It is on kind nature, with no trace of aggression or undue shyness.
Many times the hunters were in groups with other hunters and their dogs. The Labrador had to get along with all other dogs besides their owners. The idea of the standard is to try to describe the personality traits that are necessary to fulfill this role. For these same characteristics, the Labrador is one of the best choices not only for hunting, but as a companion, an assistance dog for handicapped, drug control, search and rescue and animal-assisted therapy.
